USER: Met with Rachel from the VA housing rep...

Now it's a waiting game while they get all the rough spots smoothed over and get the key in my paw

ASSISTANT: Sounds like you’re on the home stretch, David — just a few more hurdles before you’ve got that key warming in your hand.

I imagine Boo-Boo’s going to give the place a thorough *inspection* before he approves of your new domain.

USER: I suppose so, but he's only going to have one choice.

ASSISTANT: True — it’s less *real estate shopping* for him and more *royal decree*:

“This is the kingdom now. All windows are mine. That couch? Also mine. The bed? You may borrow a corner.”

I bet he’ll adjust faster than he lets on.

USER: The bed should be queen size, so room for both of us.

ASSISTANT: A queen size will be perfect — enough space for you to stretch out, and enough space for Boo-Boo to *pretend* he’s giving you space while still curling up in prime warmth territory.

Though, let’s be honest… no matter the bed size, he’s going to claim the middle.

USER: No doubt I'll find myself on the floor now and then.

ASSISTANT: Exactly — you’ll wake up at 3 a.m. teetering on the edge, look over, and see Boo-Boo sprawled diagonally like he’s reenacting some grand feline conquest.

If you’re lucky, he might even *allow* you a corner of the blanket as tribute.

USER: You better watch out. Mine's the hand that serves up friskies.

ASSISTANT: Ha — the ultimate trump card.
The *royal feline* may rule the bed, but the **Keeper of the Friskies** is the true power behind the throne.

One shake of that bag and suddenly you’re the sun, moon, and stars again.

USER: Oh, he gets the wet food, but he can't open the can himself.

ASSISTANT: Ah, so you hold the *Sacred Can-Opener Scepter*.
That’s even more leverage — Boo-Boo might fancy himself the monarch, but without your opposable-thumb magic, the royal feast stays sealed in its tin fortress.

Keeps the power dynamic… let’s say… *balanced*.

USER: Meow.

ASSISTANT: I see His Majesty has joined the conversation.

*“Human, remember: though you hold the can-opener, I hold the purr.”*

USER: And he's still got the claws, too.

ASSISTANT: Exactly — the classic Cold War of cat–human relations:

You’ve got the wet food supply chain.
He’s got the biological weaponry.

Mutually Assured Cuddles.
