USER: I want I wanted to, I wanted to comment on a phenomena I witnessed for the first time uh.. George A. George Mason University related

USER: uh.. as to the um severality of of of of graduation ceremonies that took place over a number of
ASSISTANT: Oh?
USER: over-over a number of weeks and and wondering uh.. what-how many division- wh- what separate divisions does a typically university uh celebrate graduations but keep it George Mason focused
ASSISTANT: Checking. So, yeah, what you saw is normal for big universities. George Mason does a big, university-wide commencement and then each college actually hosts its own separate ceremony. So for example, business, engineering, science, public policy, each of those get their own. And they get spread out over several days. It's partly a size issue, because there are a lot of graduates and you don't want a single ceremony to run for 10 hours. So, it's more like a graduation festival, balancing the university-wide celebration with each graduate's individual moment.
USER: Yeah, that was an interesting pr- uh procession to observe uh like a
ASSISTANT: Oh, yeah.
USER: like I said, it-it-it went uh it-it lasted over several days if not uh
ASSISTANT: Mm-hmm.
USER: weeks and my, my usual route through campus getting to University Mall on a bicycle uh p- sends me through a large parking area and I, I I saw the uh comm otion going on uh.. exactly from that
ASSISTANT: Okay. Ah. Yeah.
USER: perspective
ASSISTANT: It's a really interesting slice of campus ritual to stumble across.
